#1 Postby floridahurricaneguy » Thu Aug 04, 2005 8:18 pm

I am using Tracking the Eye right now and also demoing Eye of the Storm softwares. Anyone else have any other suggestions or ones to try? I want one free or not horribly exspensive? I know some you can use free if you enter your own data and dont subscribe to get theres which is fine with me. Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance,

Matt

THis is a pretty good program that allows online automatic updates for free. It also has a wonderful archive of past storms.

Is Tracking the Eye free or does one have to pay money after a certain amount of time? Cause I want it.

Oh and BTW Track-a-storm isn't working for me. Is there a reason for this?

Tracking the Eye is free but after the data it comes with which is every storm since TD 9 all the way to 1851, you enter the rest manually or pay. Its a great program.

Try the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel online tracking map. Has historical storms since 1900 and current tracks. Use keyboard arrow keys to step through the tracks.

I tried Global Tracks 7 and EOTS 3000, and, for what it's worth, Global Tracks 7 wasn't worth the extra $10 over EOTS. It's also a very new release (like 3 weeks old) and downloading still has a ton of bugs. I got EOTS, and it only does the ATL, EPAC and CPAC, but it's much less graphic intensive than GT7. I still really liked GT7 (it gets model runs, storms worldwide, and figures winds in places affected by the storm), but it has a very bad downloader and was $55. EOTS was $45. But the choice is yours, as they were both nice pieces of software.
