Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 5, 2005

<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/eats20050805.jpg">

Tropical Depression #9 is a wreck this morning. The low level circulation
is well defined, and is taking off to the northwest. With the LLC moving
into a less favorable environment, I do not expect this system to develop
much, if at all, in the next few days. TD9 will be fighting Saharan Dust,
Dry Air, and the upper level low to its north. With the LLC taking off
unexpectedly to the northwest, TD9 may very well be the first depression
that does not make tropical storm strength this year in the Atlantic basin.
TD9, or its remnants should stay out to sea.

A new tropical wave emerged from the African coast and appears very
well organized this morning. This system will likely become an invest
in the next day or two as it moves westward.

The Saharan Dust and dry air continue to be detrimental to the
development of tropical cyclones in the eastern Atlantic.
