The whole Southeast is way over on rainfall... even the summertime afternoon storms are causing localized problems. We had Arlene, Cindy, and Dennis as well in June/July. Cindy caused major flooding in the Atlanta area.

Very stormy was last night als here in Miami. I didn't get as much rain as you got but just enough to flood the streets (1.70") and enough lightning strikes to cause mass panic!

If it keeps raining we will all trade in our cars and use boats to get around the southeast. :D

Interesting how completely different this summer is than last in the Keys, at least for rainfall. Last year = very dry, trees leafless and everyone wishing for rain in August. Fourth driest May on record. This year, more like the tropics, rainfall almost every week, heavy rainfall last night. Last year's relentless Bermuda high that stopped all convection over us (and steered canes into central Florida) not nearly as consistent.

I kept telling all those who were asking about the Bermuda High for 2005 that it was more likely to change this year than not.

We have a persistent weakness across the North Gulfcoast with a Upper-level Low to add to the lift.

WE need the rain here! Officially 18.57" BELOW normal since Jan 1. Last year at this time we had almost 54" of rain at this time compared to 20.37" this year. What a difference a year makes huh?

Where's my tropical storm with 10" of rain???
