I was behind a truck with what said they were Florida license plates, and they did have a number like regular license plates, but the plate itself looked like some sort of "designer" plate from a postcard and beach toy store....
But the amazing thing is that it has what looks like it might be a hurricane swirl on the left side... The plate is yellow, orange and blue, basically with a light blue swirl....
Is that for real or did someone just put this on his truck and figure he would not get caught?

I think what you encountered was our "Discover Florida Ocean" plate. We have an extreme ammount of vanity plates here in Florida. Click Here for the list and pictures of them.

What happened to the awesome Space Shuttle plates? They aren't on that list.
I always liked seeing those, in addition to the blue and orange Florida colors.

Thanks Beer980--but know what? I could NOT find it. The colors are totally different.... Not the "Discover Florida Ocean" plate unless colors are wrong at the website...
Interesting....
Perhaps they need a "hurricane" plate...
Do those vanity plates actually benefit oceans, manatees, etc.? Who gets all that extra money?
