Western Atlantic Tropical Summary UP August 18, 2005

<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/wats20050818.jpg">

Upper lever lows and a tongue of Saharan Air are the main story in
the Western Atlantic. Sure, the remnants of TD10 are still out there,
but conditions remain unfavorable for development right now.
That may change in 24-48 hours, however, I'm not confident that
TD10 will regenerate.

Air Force recon will go into the remnants of TD10 today and give us the
status of this system.

I do not anticipate tropical cyclone development in the Western Atlantic
in the next 48-72 hours.

Something to watch maybe next week. Doesn't look like it will be much though.

Rainband, excellent post. The best and most informative post I have seen in a long time. It has enormous implications and seems to confirm what is presenting on satellite imagery.
