In regard to Jose, good call on the prediction.

Also, aren't the water temps in the southern BOC - just off the coast - relatively cold in comparison to the central and northern GOM? If so, and considering how quickly Jose swirled up in that area, I agree it would be simply amazing to see what would happen to a similar system making it to the warmer waters up north...

Mike, excellent job, again, but shame on you for using the F word-- Frederic. I mean, would you use the C word--Charley-- for Southwest Floridians or the I word-- Ivan-- for Pensacolians?! Just kidding. It's a possbile analogy, I must admit.
I agree that water temps in the Gulf are very high. Friends and family who've gone deep sea fishing lately have talked about almost 90 degree water! This graphic sure bears that out:

From that, it appears most of the Gulf is 85 degrees and up. I know other favorable conditions must exist for strengthening, but that is impressive, I think.

Excellent as usual.

I think you will be talking about the remnants of TD10 for awhile, this one is worse looks to be worse than Irene in longevity of us waiting to see what it will do and may be far worse if it does get to those warm GOM waters.
