Miami NWS Re-Do

#1 Postby jlauderdal » Tue Aug 23, 2005 7:22 pm

Tear up the previous forecast and start over. They have been downplaying this the past few days, Melbourne was a bit more bullish yesterday but now its wait and see to see if it can deepen tomorrow.

.UPDATE...MUCH OF THE FORECAST PACKAGE IS BEING REVISED ALL DUE TO
POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE IMPACTING SOUTH FLORIDA. SLOW MOVING
SYSTEM WILL LEAD TO VERY HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE AREA. FOR THAT
REASON...A HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK (ESFMFL) HAS BEEN ISSUED MENTIONING
THE POTENTIAL FOR 5-10 INCHES OF RAINFALL THURSDAY...FRIDAY...AND
SATURDAY. THE BIG QUESTION IS HOW MUCH THIS SYSTEM DEVELOPS.
OFFICIAL NHC FORECAST BRINGS T.D. 12 INTO SOUTHEAST FLORIDA AS A
STRONG TROPICAL STORM (KATRINA?) EARLY FRIDAY. GRIDDED FORECASTS
HAVE JUST BEEN UPDATED...AND A NEW PUBLIC/MARINE ZONE FORECAST
PACKAGE WILL BE OUT SHORTLY.
