I'm not sure what Louisana politics are but if the Governor declares a state of emergency or the Mayor of New Orleans orders an evacuation to protect life in this face of this natural disaster lawyers would pay hell trying to sue either. The facts are simple you don't have to be told to evacuate to leave. Florida has a mandatory evacuation law but you can't go into somone's home and drag them out. If they walk out on the street you can pick them up but if they stay inside there isn't a thing anyone can do. It is impossible to underestimate the threat right now to the upper Gulf coast. People need to get out and they need to get out now!

What a mandatory allows is for the emergency services to tell you that you are on your own- it removes the duty to act from EMS.

Maybe i just don't get it. If i saw something that resembles a giant skill saw blade coming my way and i was in New Orleans the only part of my anatomy you would see would a rear view.(no fun intended).
