Info on Ocean Springs, MS and Grand Bay, Al

#1 Postby little joe » Mon Aug 29, 2005 2:43 pm

I have family in Ocean Springs, MS and Grand Bay, AL. Does anyone have any information about the status of these areas. I am from Saint Martin, just north of the back bay. I'm afraid my home is gone and worried about friends and relatives who wouldn't or couldn't leave.

I have a friend that has spoken to family who rode it out in Ocean Springs (they live 5 miles inland). They are doing ok. There is some damage to their house (shingles torn off, etc.) and there are several trees down. However, they do not appear to have sustained major sturctural damage. Again, this is inland - not on the beach.
