It's not going to a rapid development, but likely we will have a tropical depression in the next 12 hours...

What I don't like ATT, are the elongated nature of the overall cloud structure and maybe some shear from the west ... It won't be a rapid process but a gradual and steady one ...

From the water vapor loop it looks like the dry air to the north is letting up a bit. May have a good environment as it gets further north.

The dry air may actually be attributed to neighboring Mexico ... bad burritos? ... Anyway, someone else posted (I think it was MWatkins) that Caribbean systems have a tendency to do this ... fade some during its incipient stage and when everything begins to come together ... look out ...

The convection in the Caribbean developed rapidly yesterday, that in itself got us very interested in this system.

We shall see what happens overnight and tomorrow. :)

Convection is now firing near the mid level center. Development will be slow. But you also have to remember something...the same trough that will force what will likely be TS Bill may help ventilate the system as it moves into the GOM.
