Well, it needs to get it's butt into gear and go ahead and do it. No stalling, no lollygagging in the Carrib. I missed the one Dolphins game I had tickets to last year because of Jeanne, and I have tickets to this weekend's game - good seats, too, Row 5 lower level. At least I wised up and got reservations at two hotels - one on the beach and one inland. They cancelled our reservations last year at an oceanfront hotel.

I do not think you have anything to worry about with Tomorrows game....Late Mon/Tues is when we might have to worry.NC George wrote:Well, it needs to get it's butt into gear and go ahead and do it. Oh boy, am I torn. The Gator football game that I have been waiting for all week is about to begin and if I'm smart, I should go get some gas for the generator and car tonight before everyone in S Fl. hears what may be in store for us.
I'm off to the gas station but GO GATORS!!!!

I went to the 'Fins game the day after Jeanne hit here. I wasn't wasting the $70 I had paid for tickets and bus ride and so I went.
I got DRENCHED. Absolutely drenched. Tail of Jeanne gave us one last lash.
But my Steelers won.

Tomorrow's game is not an issue - it's in NY

As an aside, thank heavens the 'Canes won, and let's go Gators!

Don't think that Invest 96L has a shot at being there

I'm taking this threat seriously (and changing travel plans)
My grandmother and I are spending the night here in Fort Myers Beach again tonight.....and were planning to drive across the Everglades and down to Key Largo tomorrow, but the model data and satellite imagery has changed our plans. Instead I'm taking I-75 northward back to Tampa and then I-4 across the peninsula to the
Jacksonville/ St Augustine area.......then northward into SE Georgia or southern South Carolina (Hilton Head Island) on Monday.
I see this system as a potentially serious threat for the Keys and southern peninsula and won't be surprised if it's a significant hurricane at landfall. I don't care to get caught up in the middle of an evacuation......especially considering the age (92) and feeble health of my grandmother.
