#1 Postby cloudy » Sun Sep 18, 2005 7:10 pm

Could anyone please tell me what that THING in the PACIFIC is? You will see arrows and questions marks posted next to it? I need others to clarify what I am looking at because It looks formidable to me and would seem to be a monster in the making. :?:

This is my first time posting so please forgive any BLOOPERS

Good god. If you knew thing one about the tropics you'd know there's no chance that anything could ever, ever, ever develop that far north in the Eastern Pacific.

Wow.

Yes, it's an upper level low that would be way too far north to develop even if it were at the surface.

Real nice welcome to give them. He obviously didn't know, thus the question.

Yeah it's an ULL, don't worry, when I first saw it I thought it was a big extratropical storm.

It's expected to bring some rain near my neck of the woods tomorrow (only 20% chance though). Any is welcome after going 5 months without.

Welcome to the boards, Cloudy. I'm sorry some members apparently have little regard for manners.

Perhaps you didn't realize, but many of use here are neophytes in the whole weather world, trying to learn. I think your response to a newbie's question was uncalled for.

Don't feel bad cloudy. I'm sure many of us didn't know what an Upper Level Low was when we first got into weather. Don't let lack of knowledge stop you from posting, it's why we're here. Personally I couldn't tell the difference when I first started.

Welcome to Storm2k!

Yeah, good job being a prick. You'll notice its at 30N which is basically where New Orleans is from the equator. So maybe you should explain to us why in the Atlantic there are storms which form this high, and in the west pacific, but not the east (?? its central) pacific.

Aerojad- There's no reason for such a condescending tone.

Yeah, and sadly he even apologized in advance if he was way off with his thoughts but still got the response above.

Welcome cloudy. Despite certain posters, you'll find a wealth of knowledge that most of us are willing to share easily and politely.

THANK YOU for enlightening me on this satellite image. I do apologize for the lack of knowledge in my first post. This is my very first time delving into the world of understanding the weather on a level that goes further than turning on the weather channel.
I am here to learn and it looks as though I have many well informed teachers who are willing to assist me on this journey. The embarassment  isn't as bad with all your supportive replies. :)

I look forward to talking about some weather with all of you.

Oh yeah, there are always one or two know-it-all jack arses in the crowd ready to attack others with their demeaning insults. (These people are evil and must be destroyed- just joking  ) However, they must be ignored from time to time...&...This is one of those times.
