Will all the names be retired?

Tonight on a local radio station, one of TWC guys called in to give a last Rita report. He was saying how we only had 4 more names to go until the Greek alphabet. He also said, if I heard correctly, that if we us all the names in the list, the entire list of names will be retired.

Did I hear this correct?

At this point, I wouldn't argue with it. This season has been hell.

why would all the names be retired if we reach the greek alphabet...only the ones that caused mass destruction/loss of life would be

Not a good idea... would be a waste of names like Lee and Franklin.

That was an incorrect statement. Only the storms causing significant damage and/or casualities will be retired. Names like Irene and Lee will be reused in six years.
