Thanks CajunMama - I've set my DVR to record these!

Killer Hurricane: Anatomy of Katrina will re-air at 11pm CDT(Midnight EDT).
And, if Discovery Channel stays true to form, it'll show again and again and again...
That said, it should still be pretty interesting. Thanks for the info, CajunMama

Noticed on one of the parts where they were trying to show Katrina, they showed Hurricane Rita coming ashore.

Try living in it.
Some friends and I were talking about this during a cookout yesterday--when you're in an intact building or home, you almost forget what happened. Then you go outside and her destruction is still all-encompassing, despite a month's worth of cleanup. It's impossible to get away from. Most folks down here don't even call it Katrina anymore; they just call it "the storm."
But on a brighter note, Bay St. Louis renewed its tradition of Second Saturday where in the past, businesses in Old Town BSL opened their stores late and offered drinks, while local musicians would play in the streets--all on the second Saturday of every month. They tried it in September, and about 15 people showed up and went to the beach to toast the rebuilding.
This time around it was just a couple of bands and a couple of shops, but a lot of the great people down here attended and by damn we had a good time. So did the National Guardsmen and the Vicksburg firefighters

What I thought was something from the show was the people getting samples from the wetlands to try and study hurricanes from the ancient past. I heard them mention something about cycles that were 1500 years long and us being on the tail end of a slow cycle. I wonder if this will turn out to be true, or if more evidence will show otherwise.
