Wilma Loops

#1 Postby stormernie » Wed Oct 19, 2005 7:45 am

If you look at the movement of wilma from this morning it is clear that it has perform a loop and it now seems to be heading on a northerly course. Obliously, this will need to be sustained before we can declare a turn to the north. However, it was clear that a loop was performed from 5:55 AM to the current time of 8:25 AM.

choose 15 frames and notice the loop...

Movement is WNW. The apparent loop was because the small eye is orbiting inside the newly forming eye.

yeah, in that last frame it did take a wobble to the north which constituted a tiny loop after going W, then SW. Stating the obvious, but even being aware that Canes don't travel in straight lines, this thing moves extremely erratically.

I saw that and was wondering what the heck she was doing, it looked like a little loopdy loop I thought that was odd.

Exactly... go to the NHC water Vapor loop... and put the forcast points and Lat/Long overlays on it. She's actually on NHC track when you look at the general direction.
