Search Underway for Suspected Bank Robber

(10/19/05 - RALEIGH) - The Highway Patrol is searching for a bank robbery suspect at this time that led authorities on a two county high speed chase. It started just before 10 am at the Coastal Federal Credit Union in the 4700-block of Hope Valley Road in southwest Durham.

Officials say at least one suspect started driving a white van on Highway 98 into Wake County.

The 45 minute chase ended with the van crashing at the U.S. 1 on-ramp in Wake Forest. The suspect jumped from the vehicle.

Highway Patrol and K-9 units have begun a search for the suspect. He was last scene running behind the McDonald's on Highway 98.

We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.

Wake Forest isn't too far from where my folks and I live!

Suspect has been arrested and fortunately no one injured in either the robbery or vehicle/foot chase!
