Wilma effects in Tampa vs. Jeanne, Frances

I am curious as to how the likely effects of Wilma in our area will compare with those of Jeanne and Frances. Any ideas, mainly windwise?

about the same

difference is that we shouldn't see the wrap around storm surge after the storm passes liek we did last year.

i think initial surge will be very small if any. wave heights will be higher though

Sustained winds will be lower, IMHO.

However tornadic activity could be off the charts. :eek:

Yes... probably similar. The surge will be after the center passes.

Actually if Wilma makes landfall Ft Myers or further south I would expect little or no surge in the Tampa area. With the angleof approach and the forecast speed we shouldn't have much time with an on-shore wind.
