Hurricane season over in Mississippi

With strong westerlies now over the GOM, and the "Fall pattern"
firmly in place, with lows in the low 40's, I believe it's safe to say
that Mississippi will not see another hurricane or even a tropical storm
for the remainder of the 2005 season. Shoot, you can add Texas,
Louisiana and Alabama, plus the Florida Panhandle to that list.

I know, a bold prediction.

Yep... I think the entire Gulf will be shut down for hurricanes once Wilma comes through. Might get a weak rainmaker, but no hurricanes.

At least the majority of it . . . I wouldn't be surprised to see one cut across the SE corner of it later on.

I think you're right DH - besides, we've had enough "hurricane fun" for this year. BTW - there's still lots of Pelicans on the reservoir; I'm still trying to figure that out.
