Model Verification for Wilma (UKMET wins, CMC, disastrous)

#1 Postby Derecho » Tue Oct 25, 2005 9:23 pm

Now that the last advisory is out ran a forecast analysis on Stormtrakker...

Top overall model single model, by a pretty decent margin, was the UKMET; it seems to have rebounded this year after having a few years where it wasn't that great, after some good years 3-4 years ago IIRC.

The worst global with a truly hideous performance, barely beating XTRP, was the Canadian (CMC)...hate to be a broken record but it really deserves to be generally ignored; all too often it's seized upon by people I disagree with who want a track outside of consensus; on the rare occasions it's right it's basically dumb luck.

Worst model overall, performing worse than XTRP, was LBAR; on some other boards I saw Tampa people I disagree with seizing on LBAR.....

Yes the UKMET did great. I believe it was the only one that did not take Wilma as deep into the Yucatan as most of the other global models did. Great job UKMET.
