White Pumpkins?

White Pumpkins?
I heard a blurb on the radio, something about white pumpkins all the rage this year. Parents think they're better than orange pumpkins, b/c the carved faces show up better? Farmers are thinking about increasing the white pumpkin crop next year!
I said what? What next, purple xmas trees?
My neighbors next door are just the type to have white pumpkins this year, b/c they're so "trendy".....ugh.
Has anyone heard of this? I swear I feel like I've been living under a rock. I know gourds and squash come in so many different colors, but I didn't know about white pumpkins!
Now a White Pumpkin would have been pretty cool the Halloween we had 6 inches of snowfall! Oh yeah.....

I saw a few "white" pumpkins at Whole Foods. I think they would be eerie when they are carved!
Speaking of which, I am carving Brady's pumpking tonight!! Not that he will have a clue, he is only 11 months old
Daddy said as long as I do not use the Pooh Bear pattern, it's cool. Daddy has put a ban on Pooh

For some odd reason, carving our pumpkins was always a rushed deal, close to 6 p.m. on the 31st! I keep saying each year, carve earlier......good for you Cindy! That's what I needed - an involved Aunt!!!
The parents interviewed for that radio news piece I heard, said white pumpkins are perfect for carving Casper the Ghost. I still had no idea they were growing white pumpkins! I don't have a little trick or treater to walk around with anymore....,
, otherwise I'd see if this really is a popular new trend. I just don't buy it.....

You guys would die at how I carve my pumpkins......same old zig-zag mouth, triangle nose, oval eyes, slits for eyebrows.....LOL But ya know, I'm willing to turn over that knife to anyone in my family but they take one look at that mess on the kitchen floor and say no way, you're doing a good job Mary!
