Have the Fireworks started, yet?

#1 Postby breeze » Tue Jun 24, 2003 9:31 pm

Just curious...have the July 4th fireworks started in
your neighborhood, yet? They set up a stand, here, on Monday,
and, it has sounded like guerilla warfare, since then!
My gun-shy dog has been running the neighborhood, in a panic -
she thinks they're shooting at her! Gosh, I'm afraid this could go
on until the kiddies run out of ammo - perhaps weeks from now! :o

Fireworks have started already ... one week ago. Surprisingly, tonight, all has been quiet ... :D 8-)

yes they have started in Menasha. About a week ago, I saw fireworks light up the Milwaukee skyline, but that was about it around here.

Yes...especially in the last three days! Oh... you meant in our town? It is against the city ordinance to have fireworks in town with the exception of the city display on the 4th. That rule is pretty much the status quo in this area.

With all the rain we've had in the last week it hasn't really started here yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of a couple of days and the fun will begin! :-)

haven't heard any as of yet...but they will be starting soon! Not supposed to use fireworks in Biloxi city limits...but people still do regardless of what the law says.

None around here yet. They're not allowed within the city limits and they start selling just a couple of days before a holiday and may stay open til the day after the holiday. My family won't let me buy fireworks cuz I only buy the "weenie" fireworks such a sparklers, black snakes, poppers, fountains and anything that doesn't go up in the air!

But that hasn't stopped us from popping! The cops came by one New Years Eve and just told us (parents & kids) to be careful.

Nothing here yet....fireworks are illegal in Georgia (why everyone has to drive to Alabama and Tennessee to get them..LOL!).

I'm sure I'll hear quite a few on July 3-4th....because of the state law, everyone waits to the last minute to set them off....there's so many, it helps keeps the cops off-guard

I used to always hear fireworks a few weeks before the Fourth of July in Massachusetts. Since I have been in Florida, the last three year (this being the fourth), I haven't heard any at all.

We have a law in Florida where it's ok to sell all kinds of fireworks but illegal to use any that leave the ground. What kind of sense does that make? LOL On the week of the Fourth it sounds like a minor war around here ;-)

Fireworks are legal to buy in New Hampshire, but not so in Massachusetts. So, of course people go to New Hampshire to purchase them and bring them into Massachusetts and use them, illegally.
