here is a link to a story in the St Pete Times. i personally feel that people need to lose the victim mentality and start taking responsibility for themselves. It is not the job of the government to take care of you. If this belongs in another forum I apologize.

Excellent article. I feel bad for those who were unable to prepare for the storm or lost their hurricane kit to the storm. They are the ones who need help.

It is difficult to have sympathy for those who appear to have been unwilling to prepare, relying upon post storm government assistance as their hurricane plan. These "volunteer victims" seem to be making the most noise.

Those that are complaining need to take them a long ride down the Gulf Coast. I bet you they stop complaining.

I would hope they would. But then again I had some dumb...dumb argue with me about whether Vicksburg had more damage than the coast. Some people just won't ever get it. :P

There's a good article in today's Sun Herald about a group of Pennsylvania students who raised money for two months to help Long Beach put on a homecoming. It said nearly every one of the Penn kids cried while they took a two-hour long tour of the waterfront. That's about the only way anyone outside of the area will ever understand is if they see it first hand.

I agree. After what I covered in NOLA, I was particularly pissed off at the complaining in FL.

They should watch my video trailer I posted for the documentary I'm doing on the NOLA relief.

We diverted air assets to FL to deliver ice....meanwhile, there were thousands trapped in Cancun without drinking water. The tail definately shook the dog.
