Of course when it rains at the vb abode it does it with GUSTO!!! We just had 2.6" of rain in about 1.5 hours. Son couldn't even go to school till the street flooding subsided.
Before that we hadn't had any rain in about two weeks at the house. In fact I used artificial rain on part of the yard yesterday. It seems we are either feast or famine in the Spring Branch area when it comes to rain.

Southeastern Texas should have a continued chance of thunderstorms the next couple of days.

YIPPIIEE for you :)

I need some of that water from the sky  Mine has been coming out of the hose. I get sooo mad cause the west coast of FL is getting more than they can handle, and me here on the east is getting zip. My grass is cruchy AGAIN!

Hope you get more rain too :)

Well, when I said a little, I meant a little. However, earlier tonight on our way home from VBS, we had a very strong thunderstorm. There was a lot of cloud to ground lightning and just a cool lightning show with heavy rain. We were driving like 40mph on the freeway! Unfortunately, it didn't last very long so there wasn't much accumulation and we are still WAY behind in rainfall. But to be positive, it's a start. ;)

We still need need some of that rain ya'll are getting along the central gulf coast and the Florida west coast. I hope you get some of that water from the sky too Bron!! That was my first thought yesterday morning when I looked outside...."Oh My Gosh....there's water falling from the sky!!!" Such a welcome sight around here.

David, that's a lot of rain in just an hour and a half. To put our rain in perspective, we haven't got close to that in the last few days and not much more than that for all of June!!!:(

Did you end up getting any rain today?

Not to bring up bad memories, but wasn't the GOM in a similar situation before you guys got pounded last year with the hurricanes? :o

No Steph....not a drop!

Well, the hurricanes went to Louisiana. They ordered an evacuation for us when Lili was a cat.5 heading straight for us, but the forecast changed after that and she hit Louisiana. We didn't get much from Lili at all...a little wind.

Now Allison hit here 2 years ago when we were pretty dry and caused a whole lot of flooding here and of course in Houston too. It rained nearly every day that June....I'm not kidding.
