GFS is usually the most unreliable model. It has a tendency to "lose storms" during the medium range forecast and then pick them up again in the short term, but usually not as extreme as it forecasted in the 10 day model.
Ten days is just too far out to rely on for any map, though they do at least give you an idea or what "may" happen. We'll just have to wait and see!

What models are more reliable than the GFS?
Is it less reliable than the Canadian model? NOGAPS? WRF-extended? I don't think so ...
It's easy to shoot at because 16 days of model output are available on the web.
The ECMWF may be more reliable, but its output is guarded carefully and only selected fields are available.
DGEX is presumably more accurate but is this output available on the web (not a rhetorical question)?
NAM/Eta is only run for 84 hours and may be disappearing next spring.
