Internet shorthand
I hate internet shorthand.
What do you think of it? Discuss.
Edit: More specifically, I'm talking about extreme shorthand such as 'u', 'r', etc. Not acronyms.

Amy,

I remember when my maintenance boss at a tire tread and repair products plant would leave notes tucked inside with my time card in the slot and he would say...Please see me B4 you start work.

I believe that was the first time I ever saw the word before written that way.

I use them mainly because my brain works faster than my fingers and by the time my brain waves get to my fingers they're behind already! If i didn't use them i'd leave out entire words!!!! One that i semi use is prolly which is easier to type than probably. One thing i find i do most of all is not capitalize words within a sentence.

Well, years ago in my high school yearbooks we used abbreviations, RMA - remember me always, or 2 cute to be 4gotten. There were more but I forget some of them. Of course you have to realize that none of these are used today (or so my kids tell me!). Nina never types the word probably out, instead it's always - prolly. And she's a Journalism major. But somehow when she writes for real, she spells very well. So that's a good thing.
