Katrina Bus Tours?

#1 Postby terstorm1012 » Fri Dec 09, 2005 11:24 am

Now I know y'all do things differently down there...for example I really love the way you do funerals and the way y'all do them is the way mine is going to be decades and decades from now...but this seems just a tad macabre.

What do you all think?

I am appalled that they are doing this.

Keep tourists out of here! How mighty nice of that greedy man to donate only 3 dollars to Katrina victims. (sarcasm). He should have donated all of it.

You know what? The more people who see the complete devastation in New Orleans, the better. I don't like this one bit. But, we need people to see what we're up against down here. We're facing a total economic collapse. We need some assurances that our nation is going to help us. We cannot do it alone.

Can you imagine trying to salvage belongings, rebuild your house, or even tear it down your out there working to put your life back together. And suddenly a bus drives by with tacky looking tourists snapping pictures of you and your home like your an exihbit in the zoo. It would be embarressing. But I think the people who would actually treat this as a sight seeing visit should be embarressed by engaging in that sort of behavior.

I heard a caller on WWL 870AM say that she didn't like the idea of a tour bus going through disaster areas. She did say that the members of Congress and state legislators should tour the area.
