A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTEND FROM THE COAST JUST SOUTH OF CEDAR KEY...SOUTH TO NEAR HOLIDAY...NEW PORT RICHEY AND THE IMMEDIATE PINELLAS COASTLINE. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WILL COME ASHORE NEAR INDIAN ROCKS BEACH BY 1035 PM. VERY HEAVY RAIN... FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS TO 40 MPH WILL ACCOMPANY THIS LINE. SMALL HAIL IS ALSO POSSIBLE. MOVEMENT OF THE LINE WAS TOWARD THE NORTH NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

Thunder and lightning could of been closer than it was... but there were some reasonable rumbles. The rain was quite heavy for Florida standards after midnight to about 1:30am ish.
I believe Jonathan was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning before midnight (for a period of time between 10:00pm and Midnight), not positive, though.
I know a number of counties across extreme western Florida were under warnings.
