Yeah, looks like a good size eastern Ohio snow event is shaping up. I could see around 8 inches where you live.

Watchout Detroit. The Super Bowl will be darn interesting if this pans out...

I'm in the middle of the light blue over southern Ontario. What does that mean?

How much snow? You say 8 inches for Ohio, but I am in the darker colours. Also wind? Is this a blizzard?

Possibly up to a foot with near blizzard conditions...

The Weather Network says light snow flurries Sunday in the long range forecast. The local forecast says 30% chance snow flurries too. Are you sure this is going to happen?

The colors are precipitation amounts during the period, the darker the heavier. I think a line from Ontario to Eastern Ohio and western VA will see significant snow out of this. It looks like the heavy snow will fall EAST of detroit, though. My forecast...6-10 inches in eastern ohio and western VA, with the most over Ontario.

I'm a bit too far west for this right?

I think i may see and inch or two at best. Nothing to a dusting at worst...i dont think this one is for Columbus.

Won't the ground still be quite warm and damp after todays and tomorrow's rain? I suppose it depends how quickly the temperatures fall.

Whatever happens, nice to see changes happening in the pattern at last.

Its going to be a very close call for the Columbus area. If I were you, I'd keep tuned to the NWS and local forecasts for your area. Things could change drastically, as models are having a very tough time during this pattern transition.

Interesting discussion from our local NWS office today.

Right now, they are going from around an inch in the west of the forecast area (I think thats around Dayton down to Cincinnati, never sure where the line is that our forecast area stops!) to around 3 inches in the far east of our area. I reckon thats a pretty sensible guess at this stage. They acknowledge that its a difficult system to nail down though.

Hopefully will have a better idea by lunchtime tomorrow. By then, accumlation amounts will be added to the actual forecast if they are needed..will be interesting to see what they go for.

00z NAM slams all of Ohio with wind and heavy snow. Couldn't get a better position for the Low Pressure system than that. And then a snowy Super Bowl Sunday in Detroit.

I still think the snow will be EAST of Detroit.

Detroit is going to get SOME snow out of this. Don't mess around with bombing lows my friend.
