What states will probably have a landfall this season?

This poll is for guesses and opinions only. It is only February and anything can happen. What I pray for the most is that nobody gets affected. Especially the devastated Gulf Coast. Because we can't even take a tropical storm hit here.

I would have to believe the NGOM will be spared some this season but I wouldnt rule out a early /weak TS. You had a few last year that came up from the BOC.

Here are the states and areas in the states that I think will see at least one landfalling storm...

1. Southeast Florida (I think chances are growing)
2. Texas (from Houston to Brownsville is the area where I think a hit is most likely this year)
3. North Carolina (obvious reasons)
4. New England states (not specific, but Massachusetts is most favored, in my opinion)

As for the poll, I voted middle Texas as a likely area.

The northern gulf will get a couple

floridas east coast could get one

its a complete toss up on the rest in my opinion

2. New England (Eastern half most likely)

3. Florida

Just my gut feelings.

I voted for SE FL.But I think all those areas will see a landfall or be affected by a tropical system this season.

My feeling is for the east coast in gerneral to see quite a few. From Florida up to the Carolinas.

BTW O_Town love the Doppler Radar loop avatar of Charley slicing through the central Florida Peninsula. What a storm that was

its only been 2 years

Isabel got Virginia pretty bad and anywhere up to New Jersey got nasty effects

I get the feeling we're going to have a set up simalar to 1999

La Nina, if it holds, will be the first piece of that puzzle

I believe it has been awhile since central Louisiana got hit hard. New Iberia-Morgan City. They lucked out when Lili weakened to a borderline 1/2. Not saying there was not any damage at all, but not nearly as bad as it would of been if Lili stayed a 4. The damage in that area was relatively minor from Rita as well. The last time they got slammed hard was by Andrew in 1992. Nobody at all voted for that part of the Louisiana coastline. I personally voted for the Carolinas. Gut instinct is telling me this year will be a bigger impact for the East Coast. And the Carolinas are the most vunerable because of the way it juts out into the Atlantic. Not saying the gulf coast won't get hit at all even though I pray that it doesn't. I just have a strong feeling that the majority of the hits may be on the East Coast instead of the Gulf Coast this year.

I don't really think that this'll happen, but I had a dream last night that a very strong hurricane will hit the southern end of the South Carolina coast. This seems rather unlikely, considering that storms of significant magnitude rarely hit there, but it was a rather vivid dream. I also saw that it would be a hurricane with a pinhole eye at landfall and would be strong well before landfall, but go through an RIC. Like Charley.

I think Texas because in 2003, the Carolinas saw Isabel, 2004 was Floridas Year, 2005 was S Fla's and the central & western gulf coast. So if ya continue the trend, next up would be the texas coast between Brownsville and beaumont. If I were in S Fla, I'd pay keep informed as well as one may track over ya on the way to texas.

Uhhh...Beaumont will be years recovering after Rita hit here. A trend would be AWAY from here. Brownsville to Galveston, perhaps.

Yes, this is true but Pensacola area got hit by Ivan in 2004 and then again by Emily in 2005. In 2003, Isabel hit North Carolina and so did Charley in 2004 so there must be room for some overlapping on the fringes-Just my idea.

I'm sure you meant Dennis, not Emily, but I get your point. However, you were supposed to say, "You're right. I think they will stay far, far away from your area." :)
