Is anyone watching American Idol???

#1 Postby Yankeegirl » Thu Feb 23, 2006 1:10 pm

I havent seen a topic on the show yet, and I was wondering if anyone is watching it this season? If so, who stands out at this early stage of the competition, and who do you think is going to get booted off tonight?

I think I've only watched it once or twice ever. It reminds me too much of Star Search. Gosh that was annoying too.

As for the Olympics, I get tired of watching three minutes of an event, 5 minutes of commericals, and then a bunch of talking heads.

It killed what? The Olympics are killing themselves. It is not a joy to watch anymore. Too many athelets sticking it to themselves.

Well you do have a point there. Idol was as strong as ever last night though. It usually goes down during this time and then the viewers come back for the last few people. 30 million people watched Idol last night compared to about 15 million for the Olympics in the 2 hours against it. Lowest-rated night perhaps ever... and defintely since 1992.

I watched parts of Idol last night, but it is not must-see TV for me. I'll really start watching towards the end.

I like to watch American Idol, but seem to have a hard time getting to watch much tv these days with everything that is happening in my life. Priorities. When it gets further along I will probably watch it more. Didn't see any of the guys do their thing last night since I had choir practice.

No. I follow it, but I don't really watch. The other night I got calls on my cell from people across northern Kentucky trying to vote during the competition!

Annoying?? The talent this year is unreal. Comparing AI to star search is like comparing a yugo to a Mercedes IMHO.

hey, dont knock the Yugo. it was not such a bad car. i had one and it was pretty darn good! a heckuva lot cheaper to maintain and drive than a Benz too.

i just dont like the cheesy talent shows i guess.

Imho star search was cheesy but AI is far from cheesy. Platinum recording artists are born on that show. Kelly Clarkson is proof of that. As for the hugo, that was a simple analogy and your right ,they are cheaper to drive and maintain but you would have to buy a few to outlast a Mercedes

Who was eliminated from the top 24 last night? I didn't see that show.

I think that the girls have the edge, but I like Chris and Ace.

I love this show a lot. Top 20 next week. Will be another exciting show.
And we have auditions taking place all across Canada already for Canadian Idol...which airs this summer on tv. So the fun never ends!
