Shooting at Factory in Jefferson City, MO

A manufacturing plant employee shot and killed three co-workers late last night and injured several more. The suspect was later killed near police headquarters. Police Chief Roger Schroeder says the dead man is the only suspect in the shooting and had been employed at the Modine Manufacturing plant. Police identify the gunman as Jonathon Russell, 25 years old, from Holts Summit. Sources say he worked at the plant. Police say an officer confronted the Russell in a truck outside police headquarters. Police say Russell died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The dead include Terry Wilson of Holts Summit, Ricky Borts of California, and Tim Wilbers of Holts Summit. The injured include Jim Veasman of Iberia, Mike Crabil of Jefferson City, Kevin Rash of Jefferson City, Travis Parker of Ashland, and Bill Gerloff of Chamois.(Copyright 2003 by The Associated Press.
