question on active tornado years and hurricanes?

hey guys it seems there is gonna be another severe outbreak of tornados tonight and tommorow check this link outhttp://www.spc.noaa.gov/ but i wanted to know in the past have we had active hurricanes seasons when we have had a tornado season like the one were have going on now because its truly incredible whats going on with these tornado outbreaks....OPINIONS...

in recent years I think 1999 was a active tornado year and a active hurricane season especially in the hurricanes and majors numbers

YES there is some correlation
High Gulf SSTs provide more heat energy to collide across the tornado alley to produce tornadoes
THOSE SAME HIGH GULF SSTS lead to stronger fall hurricanes...unless you get an el nino

A strong Bermuda High tends to increase the number of tornado outbreaks.
