Although that's nearly double the 100 year average, I'll try to look on the positive side and figure it would translate to a 70% chance we won't.
And be prepared regardless.

LOL....and a little while after that comment, he explained how La Nina would affect the season. He mentioned how the cooler waters in the Pacific allows less wind shear in the Atlantic Basin, and how storms this year would probably have the opportunity to make it all the way across the Atlantic and into the Carribean and/or Gulf. He was just FULL of good news!

Perhaps what he said provides some insight as to their expected landfall forecast they give us in their May update. Very interesting.

I was wondering what happened there .I knew he had been sick but never knew what from.He was an excellent radio broadcaster with view I generally agreed with on most days.
He passed away last September after a tough fight with prostate cancer.

Tyree and Garland
Yeah, DT passed away shortly after Katrina. I remember listening to WWL in the car while exiled in baton rouge, and hearing them talk about it. I think Garland Robinette came on board originally as a fill-in for Tyree when it became clear DT wouldn't be back soon, if at all. Now Garland is my main man on wwl. Funny how things worked out.
about the show this morning, I missed it, but I didn't need anymore bad news today! I'm in a state of perpetual low-grade anxiety over what to do this season if/when another cat 3 or higher heads this way....
