Recon Decoder v2.0.5 for Excel [Updated 20 July 2006]

#1 Postby senorpepr » Sun May 07, 2006 12:22 am

I've put the finishing touches on my recon decoder that I used last year here on the board. You must have MS Excel to use it!

You can find the decoder at the bottom of http://tropicalupdates.nhcwx.com/recon.htm

...or...

ReconExcel v2.0.5 [696 KB]

Geofunc application for ReconExcel [56.5 KB]
(After opening ReconExcel, open Geofunc in Excel for distance geographical functions)

Feel free to PM me with any suggestions or comments.

-Mike

Great, just a note. My version of XP required me to unblock ReconExel. Of course most if not all that would use this would know that. Also, noaa obs tab cell is write protected, is this because it uses af obs imported data?

I believe by "unblock" you mean to "allow macros." The geofunc addon requires a lower-than-normal security to function properly.

All of the tab are write protected... except for the white space where the ob is pasted. If you try deleting or pasting stuff onto the NOAA tab into the white space, this will work. I've protected the other cells to reduce errors caused by people accidentally moving or deleting important cells. Also, this protects the work that I've put into the spreadsheet.

I can't get the program to open today. I have opened it in the past and it worked fine. Anyone else having this problem?

What if you lowered your macro security, exit Excel, then open ReconExcel (and then the geofunc) , then put the security back up after you allowed these macros to run? Does it work?

Haven't changed nothing since the last time I opened it though. So its obviously working for you, then I must have done something. :(
