Close Call

Have you ever had an accident, etc. where it was too close? Did you think you would die? Were you in the wrong place at the right time for danger.

Car accident, almost hit by lightening, been shot, etc.?

There is a Palm Tree that sits out in front of my bedroom window, about 5 feet away. One day during a thunderstorm, about 4 years ago, I was laying in my bed and I saw this bright flash right in front of my box fan that was a couple of feet away from me in my room followed by the loudest crack of thunder I have ever heard. The fan instantly cut off and began smoking, but the power in the house stayed on. It reminded me of one of those fireworks you see on the Fourth of July that don't spread out, but are more of just a bright flash followed by a loud boom. I jumped up and went outside and sure enough the Palm Tree took a direct hit. The top of the trunk was charred completely black and some pieces were laying on the ground. They were burnt to a crisp. A little too close for comfort! Amazingly, the tree survived.

Ive nearly been hit by lightning twice. Once when i was about 6 and again when i was in my mid 20's. Needless to say..i am scared of lightning. About the only thing im scared of.
