The War of the Worlds

#1 Postby Janice » Tue May 23, 2006 8:20 pm

I am watching the War of the Worlds now. I do not think it is any better than the origional movie. As much as I dislike Tom Cruise, I am going to finish it till the end.

This is no big movie as far as I am concerned.

I thought it was excellent. To really get into that movie you needed to see it in the theater. Awesome affects.

Yes, it probably looked better on the big screen and the sound was probably better too. Thanks

And my dislike for Cruise didn't help much either...

I caught part of it the other night, but I couldn't get into it. I caught it just before things started to get weird with the "storm" before the attacks began (when they were watching the lightning and then ran inside). So, I hit record on my DVR and figured I'd see the rest of it later. So then, when I tried to watch it later, I felt like I was watching a movie about the Rita evacuation. First, there were all these people trying to get away, stuck in traffic tie-ups. Then, an angry crowd was beating on their car, trying to get a ride with them since they actually had a vehicle (kinda reminded me of the Superdome situation also). Then finally when they were at a safe place, Tom Cruise's character decides to fix something to eat. He gets into the supplies that the son packed and almost everything was condiments (because that's all that was in Tom Cruise's pantry when the son was getting stuff together). So, then they sustained themselves on peanut butter sandwiches.

Maybe if I watch it from beginning to end next time, I'll be able to enjoy it.

Forget his personal stuff and he's still an entertaining actor to watch. MI:3 was good. :)

Do you think we will ever see this happen for real some day? Who knows.

Oh, I just saw the little green pod in the end. Suppose there will be another movie following this?
