Took the class tonite..given by Wayne Albright of the NWS office in Wakefield VA. It was very imformative and fun as well; Mr. Albright had a great sense of humor.

WTG George!!! The more the better. We have quite a few Skywarn spotters at S2K. we should do a check and see how many there are.

I finished my "Basic" class and then took the "Advanced" class about 3 weeks ago. Not too much weather to report in here but, I will probably in the future. Also I want to take the ham radio classes.

Congrats George!

Congrats, I got my spotter card last year and just got my Ham ticket recently so I can play in the rain.

Most if not all of the local NWS sites have a Skywarn link. Houston's and SE TX areas class times are usually posted late in the year or very early in the year at their site. Normally they are in February or March here.

Hello! I took the basic class when NWS Sterling had their open house last month (which was a lot of fun, seeing the balloon releases, the office and the presentations). It's too bad they aren't planning another open house until fall 2008.
