What type of camera do you have?
I am looking into buying a camera that has better zoom quality than my kodak easyshare CX7300. Any suggestions.

Well, John had a great digital camera but it was stolen in either Japan or China last year. His camera case was empty when he unpacked. So, we got a less expensive one this time. It works just as good tho. It is a Nikon. We also have a Canon with all the gizmos, but we will probably never use it again. We love digitals. I think our other was an Olympus. Both are good cameras.

Yes........FUJI is a GREAT camera, I use mine for crime scene investigations also, the dept supplies the batteries for me and 2 extra memory cards. I paid $149 for this camera and like I said, it takes GREAT photos. I've taken 3 classes put on by Az. Dept of Public Safety Forensic Photography Instructors and even THEY said Fuji is one of the better cameras on the market, NIKON being the best!

and NO ONE has figured the darn thing out yet 
WAY TOO many features on it, in fact, we have NIKON sales rep. coming this Weds for a CLASS on how to use the darn thing

Canon Powershot S2 IS; 5.0 megapixels, 12x optical zoom... I'm happy with the quality. Here are a few pictures that I took.

I use digital cameras at work all the time. I forget the brands, but the jpg files end up being around 3 or 4 meg. (how does that translate to megapixels?)
At any rate I am impressed with the quality of the photos and how much you can zoom in on them using photo editor. Also, having the ability to lighten them, adjust sharpness, contrast, etc, right on your computer is outstanding.
I still need to buy one for personal use. I was a big fan of 35mm cameras, and still own an old, totallly manual Minolta, with specialty lenses and accessories.
I did some homework and found that a 35 mm SLR camera has the POTENTIAL to take photos that are equivalent to about 20 megapixels, but that would be using fine grained slide film, and having prints custom printed at a laboratory or doing them yourself. I learned that ordinary print film, developed on site at Rite Aid/Eckard/Walmart etc. is automatically inferior to just about every digital camera that's out there now.
What can anyone tell me about the digital SLR's. Are they worth the hype? I'd have to think that the large lenses would gather more light than those teeny lenses on most digital cameras.
My last question: Wouldn't it be cool if someone made adaptors to allow you to use your old 35mm SLR lenses with a digital camera?

This space for rent.
I have the Panasonic dmc-fz10 4 meg which has been replaced with the dmc-fz20 which is 5 or 6 ( I forget) any way - with the lumix or leica lense - absolutely love it - can't take a bad picture hardly! Has stabilization, etc. 12 times optical zoom, 36 times digital zoom - also has the capability of manual focus as well as auto. Can also take video up to the size of the card you have installed.

I have a Sony Cybershot, 5.1 MegaPixels, 3X optical zoom, It also takes video for up to 30 minutes, comes with rechargable batteries and the charger (which works with all rechargeable batteries)... Great value, it laso has a huge display on the back of the camera, I think its a 2x2 screen... I love it!!

Yeah, we love our Nikon. I don't know what John paid for it, he just said it was cheaper than the Olympus. He also has a really expensive digital he uses at school to capture molecules, etc. for his presentations. Thank God, his grant money paid for that.
I am too tired to hunt up a pic, but I think a lot of you saw the iguana by our pool that I took. It was a clear, beautiful picture.
