question for you
Is Zeta considered to be part of last season or this season? I ask because it formed after the first of the year right? One sight that I went to (I don't remember which one it was) had it as the first storm of this season because of when it formed. Thanks.

Good question. I sort of wondered that myself when it formed (on my birthday.) I am almost certain that it was recorded as the last storm of the 2005 hurricane season.
It would have been neat, but incredibly strange, to have the storms change name from Zeta to Alberto on January 1, but thankfully, this is not what the NHC or World Meteorological organization chooses to do.
