It's hard to believe that now the days get shorter. It doesn't seem right, does it???

Actually, you're all gonna think I'm really odd but I like the shortest day of the year better. Gasp, I know - what a shock! I'm just not a summer person......when I'm out cutting grass and sweating, I tell my neighbors I'd rather be shoveling snow. They of course think I'm from Mars or something.....

So you think it's downhill......I think of it as uphill!

I should just move to Alaska huh?

Alaska has longer days than us in the summer.

Anchorage today:

Sunrise: 4:20am
Sunset: 11:42pm

...and that's in Southern Alaska. In Barrow the sun doesn't set today.

That is a little longer than here then. The north of the UK has about 80 minutes longer of daylight though than here at the moment.

Wednesday
Sunrise 04:42 (BST)
Sunset 21:21 (BST)

I also prefer the winter as I don't like hot weather, just wish we had some snow though when it does get cold.

I prefer sunny and around 80 degrees. Spring time weather is great. Summer I can deal with, but the humidity is what does me in!

I like the longer days and that's why I'm not much of a winter person, plus I like to work outside. However, if there's a good snowstorm brewin'....

About 15 hours of sunlight today at this latidude. I always wanted to move to the western part of a time zone to maximize the sunlight in the evenings. Maybe someplace like .............Cincinnati. LOOK OUT MARY!!!!

Our sunrises/sunsets here in Toronto these days are:-
SUNRISE 5:36am SUNSET 9:04pm

These are about the earliest and latest times for the city of Toronto, it is a bit later sunsets to points west and north.

Even though sunsets at 9:04pm, civil twilight extends all the way to around 10:15pm or so...so thats pretty late...and civil dawn is like around 4:15am. But who is up at that time anyways?

Sun didn't set until 9:08pm today. But then, we didn't see the sunset here thanks to the clouds after some storms hit. Tomorrow, the sun comes up at 6:14am, and we likely won't see that either.

I missed summer. I forgot all about it but was feeling the heat while helping my sister move in Florida. Whoa it was hot there...and here too.

and it never eally gets dark at all in the summer, in Anchorage anyway. At 2 in the morning, there's still enough light to read....
