Problems and Downsides of Retiring

#1 Postby Janice » Mon Jul 17, 2006 7:05 am

What do you notice after a short time from beginning your retirement?

Me... Some mornings I wake up wondering what day it is, really confused. I have to check the paper  Senior moment?

Janice I remember a week or so after my dad retired I noticed he was up one morning in his work clothes sipping coffee and reading the paper as he always did before work . Asked him what he was doing he said headed to work..then he just had this shocked look on his face when he realized he didnt have to go to work anymore. He never did that again..but he rarely slept late.

Oh, I remember when Johns dad was in his 90's. He lived to 92. John would go into his room at night and his dad would be talking to people. John would ask him who they were and his dad would say he didn't know. This happened a lot. John asked him if the people answered him. He said no. John said they did not exist then and his dad would go back to sleep.

I don't think you're confused, I think that now that you are retired you don't have to care what day it is.
