May I have your attention please.
There have been several threads in this forum that have been little more than repetitive copy and paste jobs. This is a violation of board rules. An excerpt of the rules is below:
7. Third-party content. In an effort to prevent plagiarism, we require that any statistics, quotes, news articles, forecasts, and the like obtained from a third party to be posted on storm2k.org must be in the form of a brief quote that cites the original source and/or includes comments by the poster other than the quotation. If you are unsure then just post the link.
Henceforth ALL POSTS containing copied and pasted material must contain
1. A citation of the source. That means EVERY POST.
2. Your intrepretation, reaction, or some comment that ADDS VALUE to the pasted information. Anyone can find these advisories. Your are not contributing anything to the board by repetitively copying and pasting material here.
If this doesn't change, the offending thread will be locked and potentially deleted. Staff will also consider stepped up enforcement against individuals.

I don't believe so, as they are in the public domain as work of the federal government.

Yes. Don't just post a satellite or radar image for the sake of posting. Put some additive value to it.
This also goes for advisories and bulletins. Don't just post them for the sake of posting.
As Ed said, "Anyone can find these advisories. Your are not contributing anything to the board by repetitively copying and pasting material here."
Also, remember that threads with numerous things that are copied and pasted (usually found in a single, very large thread) tend to put unneeded load the server. These threads that are dozens of pages long have to fully load each time the thread is accessed. That load takes away from the resources needed to keep the forum running smoothly during a tropical system, when the forum load peaks.

That's very true; you still need to be mindful as to where those radar and satellite images are coming from. Please be observant to see if the company you are posting the radar image from supports that. Since NWS is public domain, you can use those images in a post but as stated above adding some content to your post would help the cause more.
That's so true there is one thread in the Off-topic board, which has like over 200 pages of nothing but copy and pasted news articles. Well you noticed no one replied to it, what's the use of having such a thread where no one is replying off of it? Copy & pasting articles has shown over and over again to be proven to have a rather degraded response.
