Hurricane Claudette at 4PM CST Monday, July 14
Look out for Hurricane Claudette at 4pm this afternoon.
If you live on the coast, batten down the hatches and take good care of yourselves. Let's hope this one isn't too bad and just moves on.

I say 4 today. It is looking better and if not at 4, then I assume the winds will at least be up to 70 mph.

Oil Rigs reporting strong winds......
Oil rigs out in the GOM are reporting winds above Hurricane Force. I read that at the National Hurricane Center.
We need to keep an eye on this one. Hard to tell what will happen with it.

I've been monitoring the NOAA P-3 reconnisance data on the FSU site, and on their final pass through the center, I saw a central pressure of 987 mb and flight level winds at 5000' of 72 kts (83 mph) in the east eyewall....that means 65 kts (75 mph) at the surface. I'll be very surprised if NHC doesn't upgrad Claudette to a hurricane at 7 p.m. CDT.
