I know it's Monday and back to work, but it's almost eerie.

Any more news about Pinetop and vicinity? :o

Thanks Bill!

I should've known that the majority of the people online were in the Tropics board!

I'm better, but still not 100%. Won't be until maybe late this week, early next.

Yes, the chatroom is busy, however, the Tropics Forum is busier than the Off Topic Forum, not much of anything on Storm2K members minds and/or news stories to post; Claudette is the main story and the main purpose for Storm2K (besides other meteorological happenings). :D :)

Yeah... if they aren't posting in the message board then they are probably on chat. I don't get much info. from chat (no offense to anyone) so I just scan the mb.

The chatroom is ongoing information on what everyone wants to talk about, sort of like the message board, without the wait for responses.

They both are great places to discuss the tropics, weather in genera and off topic issues, as well. :)

Yeah, I'm sure it was quiet because of Claudette. I know I hardly came in Off-Topic once I started really watching the wave that turned into Claudette. I was in tropics and chat a lot and a million other places looking at satellite loops, etc.

When there's something going on in the tropics, it is hard to keep me away. Even being sick, I would stay up very late and then get up early with the kids.....I can't help myself.

I know my computer time has been greatly reduced since it's summer. My daughters are home, out of school, and we're usually fairly busy each day. I might pop in here once in the morning, post a few times. And then not get back to the boards until late at night. Just the way it's been for a month now. I miss my old routine!!! But Aug. 21st will be here before I know it (when they go back to school) and then I'll miss my girls being home - can't have it both ways! Hubby says I need my own pc in the kitchen. We've been printing and trying new recipes online a lot. Just when I want to search around for a new recipe, the kids have the computer - playing the Sims (anyone hear of it? Ugh). Or I need to email someone, can't. By the time I get the computer back, I have to make dinner. And so it goes.....yes my own pc would be nice. If only it was that easy.....one is enough, budget wise speaking in this house.

So I am around, just not many times thru-out the day as I used to be.

It just seemed so strange - not that I should've been checking in as much since I am at work. I guess I was having a senior moment and forgot that there were probably people over in the Tropics forum!

Stephanie - a senior moment? I've been having those a lot lately. We took a drive over to the side of Cincy I grew up near. And I completely forgot what one suburb's name was. Yes, it was bugging me. I still didn't remember it until I saw the sign - you are now entering Greenhills. Try, you are now entering the senior zone!!! LOL Hubby was just cracking up. Maybe I need to do some crossword puzzles or something. he he

Mary... trust me, get your own PC!!! I had those problems until I made the decision to buy my children one of their own. No more "Mom I need the computer" for homework and such. lol.

My kids go back to school August 6th!! I remember we used to get 3 FULL months of summer vacation. We would always go back to school right after Labor Day.

Yea, we all have been pre-occupied with the tropics and summer! Most of my time on the puter has been with school and Claudette. I still read all the posts, just haven't had much extra time to reply. I promise to do better! :D

Linda - I hear ya!!! I remember two things about starting back to school: 1. It was the day after Labor Day. and 2. We had half days in the beginning. Now my girls go back to full days, from the first day back and start before Labor Day. Used to be around Aug. 27th. Now it's a full week earlier and none of us know why! They have never started back around Aug. 21st. This early start time has affected many schedules - her Orchestra Camp for one example. Instead of an easy to remember Monday-Friday schedule, it's Thurs. Aug. 14, Fri. Aug. 15, Sat. Aug. 16 (yes, a Saturday!!!), Mon. Aug. 18, off Tuesday but concernt that evening. Then completely off Wed. Aug. 20 (big of them, huh?) and then school starts bright and early at 7:20 a.m. Aug. 21.

Another observation I've noticed is August is one busy month when your kids get older. Orientations, mandatory music camps, etc. It's almost impossible to go out of town in August. I imagine July is that way for your area Linda. And I bet you hate that. I know I would!!! You have my sympathy.

Hey, August isn't such a bad month to have a birthday... it's when there's 3 in a week that there's a problem.
