Just Wondering
I've heard it said about hurricanes in the gulf of mexico, that given the geography they have to hit somewhere. My question is, as I have not located an answer, has one NOT made landfall as a hurricane or for that matter a TS, and just simply died without making a landfall? Thanks for any answers.

Since 1979:
Henri, 1979
Jeanne, 1980
Alberto, 1982
Edouard, 1984
There are also a few TD's in there
I remember Edouard in '84. This was the year AFTER Alicia in Houston and everyone was hurricane crazy...and Doug Johnson got on a flight with the hurricane hunters to go investigate old Eddy in the morning. By the time they got there...there was nothing left. It went from 998 mb and 55 knots and an eye to no center being found 12 hours later.
Now that was some weakening!
