Hutchins hit hard as storms blow in

Scattered storms moved through North Texas on Wednesday evening, causing power outages and wind damage in Hutchins but dropping only traces of rain over most of the area.

In Hutchins, part of the roof of the Gold Inn near Dowdy Ferry Road and Interstate 45 was torn off by winds estimated at as high as 60 mph. No one was injured.

My hometown has managed to get some rain, but the thunderstorms were not as severe as expected. Thank goodness.
