FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A WEAK SURFACE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE INTERACTING WITH A MID- TO

FLORIDA PENINSULA...THE FLORIDA KEYS...CENTRAL AND WESTERN CUBA...
AND INTO THE SOUTHEASTERN GULF OF MEXICO. SURFACE PRESSURES ARE
HIGH...AND DEVELOPMENT...IF ANY...OF THE SYSTEM SHOULD BE SLOW TO
OCCUR. HOWEVER...SINCE THIS SYSTEM IS MOVING LITTLE...LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER CUBA...THE FLORIDA KEYS...AND SOUTH
FLORIDA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

This is an interesting little area of possible development. The nhc above says since it is moving very little... it's possible we could see some development.

I see some very weak rotation in the southeast corner of the Key West radar loop. It appears that there may be a weak MLC. With proper divergence in the area, a very weak surface low may form.

Not to suggest anything serious will come of this, however; this season has yielded no homegrown systems as opposed to last year where I recall several.

When I am saying "homegrown" I am referring to "home" for me (near SE Florida) like the Bahamas. Last year; Franklin, Katrina, Ophelia, Rita, and Tammy all seemed to start in the Bahamas yet this year none.

May not end up relating to the system being referred to in the Bahamas now; but it is interesting; nonetheless.

It is rather interesting and I was going to have a post about it earlier today because like the NHC, I did suspect some "slow development" here - it has been a BIG rain maker for south florida and has literally rained-out the entire holiday weekend :grrr:

But the rain here has been moving differently each day.
Two days ago from the SW to NE.
Yesterday, stationary and then from W to E
Today from SE to NW with a pretty potent line coming in now (6 pm)

The Miami-FSU game appears to be a complete wash-out.

I've been watching it for a long time, I was scared to seem like an idiot, heh. It seems like it's a place of a lot of shower activity and cloudiness, but I had no idea why it wasnt mentioned in any of the forecasts.

I have no desire to see FSU win - I would rather even lowly Tennessee beat them. :grr:

Most of that convection seems to come from Outflow boundaries, nothing special here.

Looks like the thunderstorm activity continues to become more concentrated in the Florida straits....
