Taxation Without Representation

I hope this isn't considered political by this board's standards, as it doesn't deal with a hot political issue or a politician. I doubt a fight will break out over it.

I'm sure a lot of us here have seen Washington, DC's license plates which say "Taxation Without Representation" on them, and I've had discussions with people on the topic, so I thought I'd inquire here to see people's opinions.

Do you think DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, et al, should become states with full representation, electoral votes, etc?

DC does have electoral votes i think, and PR should become a state

Yes to both. D.C. does have electoral votes(I think it's 3). It has always gone Democratic.

DC, maybe. However, the others are up to their residents. Residents of PR and Guam do not pay federal inome taxes, so there is no taxation without representation issue there. IIRC, PR is split pretty evenly on the satehood issue. If PR became a state, it would be the poorest state by far, with the average income about one third that of Mississippi.
