County Fair here in Maricopa County, Arizona, is not until November or so, but for many places around the country, this is the season for the county fair.
Which county fair do you attend, if you do, and what do you like best about it? Food, music, seeing people you know?
I used to work at, spend days at, and enjoy the Boone County Fair in Illinois. Miss seeing our friends there who we would not see any other time of the year!
This year's country show has Neal McCoy and the Oak Ridge Boys as headliners.
So how about your county fair? Good, bad, or could you care less?

We don't have a "county fair", as such...our "main event" is the "Cotton Carnival", which includes a parade, the usual rides, booths, etc. This is usually done around the first week of September, and celebrates the fact that this is the northernmost cotton-growing region in the U.S.
Right now, we are hosting the "Bootheel Rodeo"...I'm semi-blinded from all the gleaming, oversize belt-buckle plates, spurs and boot "toe-protectors" around town! :o This, too, shall pass...

The Lewis County fair, 22 miles west, will be in mid-August.
The Maury County Fair, 25 miles northeast, will be end of August.
The big Middle-Tennessee Area Fair, here in Lawrence County,
which is about 20 miles south, will be in the last week of
September. Now, if I had kids, I know we'd end up going.
I remember going to the Lawrence County Fair, as a child,
and, came home with lots of stuff and a full tummy from
caramel apples, apple fritters, funnel cakes, and, all of
that gooey stuff! But, just ME? Naaaw...gotta save the $$$
for emergencies!
