Snowing in Madison, WI

#1 Postby Icey455 » Sat Oct 21, 2006 9:12 pm

Snow does not usually fall this early, but it's snowing and it is snowing at a good clip. We could see a few inches or more because how fast it is falling even though it says up to 1 inch(That's if it keeps its intensity or does not change to rain again).

It has been pretty cold in the north central states.. Wintery already.. Widespread snows and cold. I have my doubts it will be that long of a winter.. Could be pretty mild come January..

Wow this blows global warming out the window, records cold, and snow. Can you tell me why records are being broke?

I think the key to the global warming debate is not to focus on one event in one area of the world....i think it is more a slow evolution of overall trends, and of course there will be spikes in one direction or another, but the trend is probably the key.....and what is going on in one part of the U.S. even might not be going on in another.....

Global warming advocates would counter with these sizzling tidbits.....(excerpt from Record Highs post in U.S. Weather, posted on 10/22 by Tropicana)

I'm a little late to the party, but at the time you posted this, I was thinking the same thing. They were't calling for a change over to snow until 2 or 4 AM, but I was getting it around 8 or 9 PM just a tad west of Madison. By 10PM or so, we already had a little over an inch. By the time I woke up in the morning, the snow had packed itself down into ice already.
